In 2013 I started making ceramics as a hobby. I love to work with clay and in 2017 I turned my hobby into my job. Since then I have been making and selling handmade ceramics under the name Piece of Clay.
My range consists of plant pots, vases and tableware in all kinds of cheerful colors and patterns. All products are made by hand. The strength of the brand lies in the free form, the imperfection and the use of color. The choice for the different techniques such as Kurinuki and Wabi-sabi fit in with this. I get inspiration from nature, my travels and Pinterest. The beautiful color combinations and overflows that you see at sea and beach, cocktails, different green plants and coffee colors are reflected in my designs.
“By looking from my chair in the sun on the terrace at all the different greenery of palms, cacti and olive trees, I see the color shades merging. The colors give me inspiration for new glazes and patterns.”
I think it's fantastic to let people enjoy my beautiful handmade ceramic creations. Unique high quality products with the effect of the imperfection of the wabi sabi. My challenge lies in continuously seeking and discovering new techniques and creating new designs. I regularly create new products and designs, but I also recreate popular products. The range therefore changes every two months.
I now sell my ceramics all over the world to individuals and shops. Think of plant shops, gift shops or interior stores. It is also possible to rent my products for photo shoots such as magazines for interior stylists and plant lovers or cookbooks. If you want more information about this, please contact me!
